The Ministry Canine Conservation Program

The primary objective of the ministry canine services is to provide specially trained teams of canine handlers and scent discriminating detector dogs to assist enforcement officers in locating evidence at crime scenes, detecting concealed fish and wildlife, and tracking resource users. Our k9 demos will consist of educating the audience on who and what an Ontario Conservation Officer is so there is an understanding on what we do. We will educate the audience on the history, hiring of K9 handlers, dog selection for the program, training dogs and handlers, what the dogs are trained to do etc… Then we perform a live show with their K9 partners doing obedience and detection (locating hidden items) simulating deployment calls we do.

Sean Cronsberry and his K9 partner Blaze, and Tyler Grant and his K9 partner Trigger K9 Blaze is a yellow lab and has been in service since 2019. K9 Trigger is a chocolate lab and has been in service since 2023.
