Judge Information

DAVID H. EADIE
Canada

I am a retired police officer. My wife and I bred Pembroke Welsh Corgis under the Crossland prefix for nearly 30 years with many champions and several best in specialty show winners to our credit in Canada and elsewhere.

During my involvement with our breed, I served as President and/or Secretary on the executives of both the P.W.C.A.(C) and our local Kennel Club. In addition, for several years now, in an effort to promote canine knowledge and to encourage upcoming judging candidates, I have been closely involved as a director with the Central Ontario Judge's Study Group, arranging and running educational seminars. These have proven to be very successful, providing aspiring judges with insight into a wide selection of CKC recognized breeds as well as some of the less well-known, or rare, breeds.

Since 1990, I have been honoured to judge many times in Canada, the U.S.A., Scotland, Ireland, Cuba, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia and Mexico. I have also several times been invited to judge "Rare Breeds" in Canada and the U.S. (i.e., breeds which are working towards recognition).

I continue to study to improve my knowledge of our dog breeds and my skills as an all-breed judge.

Judge Information

Janet and Joe Lobb
Canada

Joe and Janet Lobb live in a small village 2 1/2 hrs west of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.(Ten minutes from one of the Great Lakes – Huron)
We have two grown children, a daughter now married and a son
living in Eastern Canada.
Employed full time, Janet is a Data Base Technical analyst/administrator for an American owned Window and Door Manufacturer and Joe is a Territory Manager (Ontario) for a European tractor manufacturer.
As far as Dog Show involvement, we are currently president and show chair for an all breed club “Bluewater KC” which hosts three days of Conformation, Obedience, Agility and Rally events in July each year. We were founding members of this club which has been in existence for over 30 years. We are also currently members of the American Fox Terrier Club.
We have limited our breeding and showing over the last few years due to our involvement in dog judging and try to attend major Dog Show Events and Specialties in the U.S.A. and Canada for education & observation purposes.
Janet started judging a few years earlier than Joe and is licensed in Canada for all Working, Herding, Terrier, Sporting and Hound Breeds. Joe continued to show dogs for others for a couple more years, due to some handling commitments, before jumping into the ‘Judging ring’. He is currently licensed to judge all Working, Herding and Terrier breeds.

As for dogs, we currently have two Smooth Fox Terriers with a litter planned for 2010.bitch. Both the male fox terrier and a Black and Tan Coonhound we owned were the top dogs in Canada in their respective breeds in 2006, the only year they were shown to any degree. Both attained American Championships with some very nice wins along the way. Another point of interest is the Coonhound is the only multi best in show winning bitch in breed history in our country.
We started "in dogs" in 1973 with a Doberman dog of show quality. Our first litter was whelped in 1977 under the Dobenhaus prefix after several years of showing and learning. Original bloodlines included Damasyn, Steb's and Kaukauna. We later introduced Beaulane, Koven’s and Dob Man to the mix. We were always a small kennel breeding only one litter per year. There have been many champions along the way from all litters, with many highlights. These include, group winners, best in show puppy awards, several "awards of merit" at national specialties, best of winners at the Canadian national and "best in show" at the Doberman Pinscher club of Canada National Specialty in 1991.All of these dogs were breeder/owner handled. We also bred and owned the top producing female in Canada in 1990, with 7 champions finished that year, which in turn made us the Pedigree Pal Breeder of the year for Dobermans. In the late 1990’s we were also co-breeders with Fabert Kennels producing Canada’s Top Doberman.
In 1988 we added the smooth fox terrier breed under the Faux Paw prefix to our kennel. We started with a Ch. Tarb the Brat granddaughter, who gave us multiple Canadian and American champions in only two litters. We have had Canada's top smooth on several occasions, and dogs that were either owned or bred by us have won the Canadian national three times, most recently a male we acquired was AOM at the American national specialty at Montgomery County in an entry of one hundred and sixty seven.
Over the years we have had many excellent dogs of other breeds in our household and in our charge, some of which we owned and some we handled for other breeders and owners.
Joe handled professionally for twenty-five years. This consisted of some of Canada's top or top ranked dogs ….working dogs ( Doberman, Bernese Mtn. dogs)…herding dogs (Australian cattle dogs, Bouvier) …terriers ( Smooth fox terriers, Wheatens)… hounds (Greyhound and B&T Coonhound). Joe also was also well known for handling German Shepherds at Specialty events.
Janet also handled many of our own dobermans and smooths to important wins over the years but generally was the ‘handler assistant’. Handling highlights would have to include winning Canadian National ‘best in shows’ with some of the above mentioned breeds. Joe piloted a Canadian bred Bernese Mtn. Dog to Best in Show at the American National Specialty as well.

To date we have judged in Canada and the U.S.A. Janet has also judged in China having done “Best in Show’ in all three countries.
Assignments have included ‘all breed’ and ‘Specialty’ shows including national/regional/chapter club shows for Bernese Mtn.Dog( Canadian National and US Regionals), Alaskan Malamute( US regional), Doberman Pinschers( US and Canada) , Australian Cattle Dog Club( Canadian National), Siberian regional(Canada)
We have also both enjoyed judging “Rare Breed” Shows in Canada over the past several years as this has exposed us to many other well known breeds from around the world.
